A couple of weeks ago, Mark Rober released this video:
As of this writing, it has had 14 million views, which means, 14 million people have seen me race this robot and lose. However, given the jigsaw puzzle that was used, the reaction of commenters was generally sympathetic to me.
Mark is one of the most popular YouTubers in the world, so this level of exposure was to be expected. In order to not be non-existant on YouTube when it happened, I also launched my own personal YouTube channel. I would definitely appreciate it if you would consider subscribing!
Perhaps the most amusing outcome, are the multiple friends who have reported becoming “cool” in their children’s eyes after they were told that Mom is friends with someone in a Mark Rober video. A close second, is the number of friends who thought it was cooler that I met Kristen Bell, than Mark Rober. I suppose I am more engineering nerd than movie buff.
The next two months should be mostly devoted to preparations for the World Jigsaw Puzzle Championship, possibly with the occasional escape room. I will be sharing jisgaw-related updates on my own YouTube channel, but I will continue to send more general updates via this newsletter.
In other news, 2 weeks ago, I traveled to upstate New York for a jigsaw convention (trip report). But on my way there, I stopped by Niagara Falls and got up close and personal with Big Water, then hopped across the border into Canada and played my 550th escape room!
Hope your summer is going well. Do feel free to drop me an email (feel free to reply to the newsletter email) and let me know what you have been up to lately!
Yours in internet infamy, Tammy
